SOMA
How far do the simulations come? What happens to them after accomplishing their purpose? SOMA: a world where several «digital humans» and environments are created for the purpose of entertainment. After we build a virtual human, what happens to him? Why do we feel a distorted emotion as if it were real? Or is it? What separates the «real» from the «virtual» is that it’s easier to erase, because the word «erase» in our world has another weight and is called «death»? This work is a set of several fragments, from sound to image, of videogames in design and development before its final state. With all the elements and pieces, a personalized narrative is built in this work that guides the viewer to another universe, a universe lost in time and desperate to fit in a more concrete context. Here we confront the digital humans, codes and simulations that carry an emotional density equal to us, where the fear of existing is as real as ours.
